		OUR OCEANS The oceans are alive. Our planet, mostly covered by water, is filled with movement and life. From the seashore to the deepest depths, oceans are home to some of the most diverse life on Earth. Coastal and ocean waters include some of the most biologically productive habitats on the planet. Coral reefs support ecosystems that are second in species diversity only to the rainforest. These are Our Oceans. Light and watery, our Oceans print re-introduces our very popular Sandy's™ Sperm whale. Because in his previous print he seemed quite lonely, we have now given him friends to swim with. The artist uses shades of blue and green to reflect aquatic conditions. The Bottlenose Dolphin and the great White Shark provide companionship for Sandy while the Sea Urchins and Starfish laze quietly about. The Giant Pacific Octopus and the Blue Crab are found in a bright shade of coral adding a perfect splash of colour. Schools of fish are used to bring balance to this print, which features both larger and smaller sea creatures. Pockets of air bubbles pull together the colours in this print while creating a watery look.
		RAINFOREST Tropical rainforests are located near the equator, where temperatures stay above 80°F year round. Although tropical rainforests cover just 7% of the Earth's surface, they provide habitat for over 50% of it's plant and animal species. Half of the world's rainforests lie within the borders of Brazil, Indonesia, and Zaire. The rainforest is full of diversity when it comes to the plants and animals that inhabit it... many found no place else on earth. Within it's dense undergrowth and towering canopy live an abundance of creatures. Welcome to the Rainforest! Our Rainforest print re-creates the rainforest's density without becoming too dark and heavy. It features the primary colours so indicative of species found only in the rainforest. The artist manages to capture the alertness emanating from these creatures. You can almost hear the chatter in this forest and feel it’s vibrancy. A closer look reveals a great amount of attention to detail. Hanging from the canopy you will find a Capuchin monkey. His twin brother hangs nearby patiently waiting for a bite off his brother's banana while sucking on his thumb. The Toucan and Macaw display their exotic colours. Just below, in the dense understory hides a Red Eyed tree frog. On the forest floor a Jaguar is quietly on the prowl, while nearby a camouflaged Emerald Tree Boa watches over all.
		THE WETLANDS Wetlands are transitional areas, sandwiched between water bodies and well-drained uplands. They include mangroves, marshes, swamps, forested wetlands, bogs, wet prairie potholes, and vernal pools. Wetlands are some of the most biologically productive ecosystems in the world, comparable to tropical rainforests and coral reefs in their productivity and the diversity of species they support. Indeed, wetlands are found from the tundra to the tropics and on every continent except Antarctica. Feel the moisture, smell the bog. This is the Wetland. The artist has chosen shades of green to dominate this print. Smiling Green frogs jump to and from green lily pads. Cinnamon Teal ducks splash playfully, while a Bog turtle rests peacefully in the hazy sunshine. A slippery snail quietly slithers along. A light showering of bubbles is used to represent the abundance of moisture found in the wetlands, while pulling together the earthy colours of this print.
		SAVANNA A savanna is a rolling grassland scattered with shrubs and isolated trees, which can be found between a tropical rainforest and desert biome. Not enough rain falls on a savanna to support forests. Savanna's have a very long, dry winter season. Summers bring the monsoon rains. Both the plants and animal species have adapted to this extreme environment. Grazers co-exist with browsers, (those who eat leaves off trees) who provide food for carnivores. Each species has it's own food preference, making it possible to live side by side and not be in competition for food. They all depend on each other to keep the environment in balance. Arid and sparse. Here is our Savanna. Shades of yellow and green reflect the artist's interpretation of the dry and wet seasons that form the savanna. Lone Acacia trees are interspersed here and there creating an arid look so indicative of these grasslands. This print features a few of the most endangered species on the earth. The very large, and very endangered African elephant, and the Javan rhinoceros, with less than 100 left in the world are found in abundance here in this print. The long legged Reticulated giraffe co-habitates with the Grevy's zebra. The colours used in this print help identify the species and are quite true to their natural colours with the exception of the hippopotamus, which the artist has humorously painted a muddy shade of pink. Cautiousness is reflected in the faces of the herbivores since there are lions on the prowl.
		ASIA These vastly beautiful, richly endowed lands with diverse landscapes and climatic variations harbour a rich wildlife heritage. This area is home to many endangered species. Asia faces severe deforestation causing loss of habitat. Governments and conservation organizations pay attention to natural reserve construction as a means of protecting the natural environment and resources. Green and lush. This is our rendition of Asia and the first print to be released on a coloured background. The Giant Panda dominates this print. The artist has chosen a green backdrop to depict the stark colours of the giant Panda that lives in bamboo forests. The Panda is joined here by the Lesser or Red Panda, also a bamboo forager. A brightly coloured yellow tiger cub adds a perfect splash of colour and an Eastern Tarsier clings tightly to a branch while keeping close watch with his large eyes. A Cobra, coloured blue adds an element of fun with his bright big smile.
